League Update

Good evening! I wanted to provide you all with an update of what has been happening at Moss Bluff Little League. The board has been meeting over the past 2 months and talking daily in preparation for the upcoming season. We have also been in contact with the Park Board, weekly.

The first order of business I want to talk about is registration. The board has implemented a new committee called the Player Development Committee. They are responsible for researching the best possible ways to help our players and coaches to be the best they can be and to be able to compete at all levels. We are working with local programs and schools to get professional and quality training for our community. The committee is led by Billy Sommers and a group of talented and knowledgeable coaches. The committee is also charged with finding and implementing training aids for our players. Due to this new program as well as the rising cost of essential equipment, jersey cost, and insurance; we are forced to increase our registration fees. The new fees will be $65 for Wee Ball, $90 for TBall to Majors and $100 for Intermediate to seniors. I understand this increase is not ideal. However, I like to consider this increase as an investment in our community. As a board, we promise to do all we can to put your money to good use. We have seen the registration cost of surrounding leagues and we do not believe we need to charge that much to get our desired outcome.

Next, I want to point out our field conditions. If you haven’t done so, take a drive to the park and notice the leveled and green fields. The Park Board has been working to ensure we have quality fields for opening day. So far…we are on track. I will let you know if anything changes.

As a board and parents to ball players, we realize ball park food may be dinner for most. We are working with local vendors to bring quality food to you and your family. We have a few things up our sleeves that I believe will be a hit. We are always looking for help in our concession stands. The worker must be 16 years of age and will be compensated. This is a good way to show our younger generations the meaning of work ethic. Please contact us if you would like more information.

We are excited to begin registration on November 26th. We are even more excited to get this season underway. Opening day information will be sent out in time. Thank you for your support!
